Easy machinability 

Spruce is easy to machine and work with as the wood is soft but durable. A vast range of profiles are easy to process with high accuracy and good surface finish; hence spruce is ideal for use in interior and exterior claddings. Spruce gives a good machining result as the annual rings are narrow, the knots relatively small and soft and grain straight. Finished products are attractive due to the consistent structure of the raw material.

In addition spruce is easy to kiln dry and therefore more energy efficient.
