KEY FEATURES OF OUR RANGE OF DECKING:

Metsä Wood decking products are made to quality standards. An overview of the key features of our decking is shown below.

Certified timber: Our decking is certified to an independent third party.

Precision finish - All our decking is precision finished. We select only the highest quality joinery grade timber and machine to exacting standards.

Our decking has a 10 or 15 year guarantee against rot and fungal decay, subject to correct installation and treatment of cut timber.

Preservative treated - all timbers are treated with a vacuum and pressure cycle in accordance with BS8417 and the appropriate outdoor wood Use Class defined in BSEN335 Part1.Treatment makes the wood highly durable, resistant to fungal decay and prolongs the product’s life. Salting (white specks on the surface) appears after a while, but this is just a natural part of the process and a sign of quality. Once weathered the salting will disappear and the green colour will mellow to provide a warm yellow feel.

Kiln dried - Most of our decking is kiln dried which means that the timber is placed in a kiln and dried to reduce moisture and resin content. This increases durability and makes the wood more stable. Our range of kiln dried decking includes softwood decking, ThermoWood decking, GrasseDeck Decking and WalkSure decking.

Chemical free - the wood used for our ThermoWood decking is free from any chemicals and due to heat treatment, still has all the properties of a preserved timber.

Our WalkSure low slip decking has been independently tested and conforms to having a low potential for slip. It has been independently tested to BS7976 part 2 to conform with UK Slip Resistance Guidelines Tested to Type 96 4S Slider and Type 55 (TRL) Slider in both wet and dry conditions.

Matching accessories - we have a range of posts and balustrading available to complement our decking. Find out more -> Balustrading
