Sustainable properties for wood products 

Pine has excellent machining and joinery applications as the wood is mild to process but also durable. Pine gives a good result due to its narrow growth rings, relatively small and soft knots and straight grain. Pine has high tensile strength perpendicular to the grain. The machining properties are favourable due to the consistency the material, which has only small variations in basic density. The annual growth ring width is small with minimal juvenile wood content.
